Welcome to North Dakota!

Well here we are in windy North Dakota. We arrived Friday September 19 and what a trip it was. We left Moore, Texas Monday morning and drove what seemed like forever up to Oklahoma. There were issues with the trailer and just getting through all the cities in Texas but we finally made it around 9 in the evening. Almost a 10 hour drive!! Yes, that is a long time but like I said we had issues along the way. Once out of Texas the roads were a lot more forgiving and the travel became a little more enjoyable. Here is a quick video of us pulling into our campground. This is a beautiful place and we have more pictures coming.

Take a break as we float the river Comal!

So we have been near San Antonio for over a year and have yet to get to the water. We did a quick dip mid last year but that was not enough. Our trip to Comal was a well needed relaxing day for sure. CJ and I have been going and going for over a year now and we really needed this break. There was no beer, no alcohol, no loud music, just us and the water. It was a nice day, not too hot, the water temp was perfect cool but not cold and we had nothing with us. Not even our worries, our pressures nor food. LOL!! This was a great day.

QUAILS! QUAILS! QUAILS!

Have you ever seen Quails? Have you ever eaten Quail? The first time I had quail was with my mom at a Mexican restaurant, which was great! We have now been out here at the ranch for over a year and have had quail a couple times. One of which was somewhat road kill. We did not intent to do this but the quail was not fast enough to get out of our way and hit our truck. We did stop to check on it and well kept it. Then our big dog gifted us one another time, so there have been opportunity to try this on our own.

Well now we own our own quail. The owner of the ranch we work on gifted us a few quail from a huge batch he purchased to repopulate his ranch. Which we are truly grateful for! CJ build a great little cage for them, which offers protection and more than enough room for them to grow and thrive. We do believe we have 2 females and a few males, hopefully, difficult to sex them when they are still small.

Nevertheless, here we are with abundance. People think it’s crazy living this way. That we are crazy being out here but it’s incredibly peaceful and beautiful. Yes, in the beginning it was extremely difficult to adjust and I had most of the doubts because things kept happening with the family. Now, I don’t think I could ever go back to where I was in life and I have no desire to.

Wish I knew what questions to ask before making my Website!

So here’s an adventure for you. If you are able to see this page right now, it’s pretty boring. I had to restart everything I did because I had to move over to another company. I was extremely upset with the entire process, but I am looking at it as a learning opportunity. Yes, because this is how I keep my sanity. My suggestion if you are going to start a website you need a couple things or maybe a few. First, have very much patience. Next, hosting and domain are considered 2 different items and must be purchased to run a site. Sometimes, it’s good to have a company to have your domain with and another company to host your website. This of course is optional, but a safety measure from research I have done. And yes, I highly recommend you do your own research, extensive research!
